An observation - October 4th
During the
lockdown I noticed how much more often I was arguing with my parents. We locked
horns over the pettiest things, to which none of us would have even paid
attention before. We couldn’t go a week without at least a few arguments, none
of which would end well.
It made me
realise that even though our relations with some people may seem great, built-up
frustration, for example from lockdown and spending to much time together with
the same people, can cause even the deepest-embedded problems to surface, or even
create these problems from scratch, often times completely ruining relations
with our loved ones and friends, or in general people we know.
That's why it's a good idea to give yourself and others a break from time to time and learn to spend time on your own. I've never understood married couples who spend every moment together - the live together, work in the same place, watch the TV together and then at the weekend do shopping and party together. I would suffocate in a relationship like this.
